Congratulations to the 36 graduates of Love Where You Live Corps Cohort 13, who graduated on June 1st, 2017! The graduation ceremony took place at Brooklyn Borough Hall where many of GCF’s service and employer partners took the stage to celebrate the momentous occasion with GCF’s newest group of alumni. Speakers included Vlada Kenniff, Sustainability Director at NYCHA, Amy Sananman, Director of the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety, Dave Wolk, Senior Manager at Franklin Energy and Jared Cole from the NYC Department of Sanitation.

The highlight of the day were speeches delivered by the graduating AmeriCorps Members themselves. Graduates Salonia Thompson, Charles Purboo, Edna McKay and Anthony Williams reflected on GCF’s four pillars: Service, Training, Sustainability and Justice. We’ll publish those speeches to the blog soon! Graduate Kristian Hidalgo told the crowd of families, friends, partners and supporters what “Love Where You Live” means to him.
