Green City Force was honored to receive the 2016 Community Impact Competition Project of the Year Award at the 43rd annual New York Housing Conference (NYHC) on December 7th, 2016. The award recognizes projects and programs “making a difference in neighborhoods across New York State.” GCF’s entry, “Young NYCHA Residents Leading Sustainability, Finding Career Paths,” was a well received in the first year that the competition accepted service program entries. You can see GCF’s entry here. You can view the other 2016 entries on the NYHC Community Impact Gallery.

GCF was privileged to be in the company of the NYHC’s other amazing award recipients, including NYCHA Chair Shola Olatoye. Cohort 11 Graduate and EmPower Energy Apprentice Keith Ford accepted the award on GCF’s behalf, on stage with Executive Director Lisbeth Shepherd and Chief Development Officer Tonya Gayle.
