The uniform ceremony on November 21st was a pivotal moment for Cohort 15. After long hours in orientation and service boot camp, we’d finally earned our AmeriCorps garbs. We were ushered into the meeting room by a large majority of the Green City Force staff. After enjoying a slideshow of our service at the farms, we were subsequently divided into our 2 teams: team Ubuntu and Abe Dua. After watching a congratulations video from Christina, Lisbeth graced us with a welcome speech and we were then sworn in as official AmeriCorps members; reciting the pledge as testament. The handing over of the uniforms represented our commitment and readiness for service. One really felt the gravity of the service to come. It was a joy seeing photos from our service at the farms. Overall the ceremony gave our cohort a sense of unity and pride.
