Mario’s Testimony:

Green City Force has made me appreciate the experience of waking up in the morning and reporting to work like a real job. Living far away and coming to work every day made me realize that I am capable of maintaining any job that GCF may help me secure in the future. I chose to become a Corps Member with GCF because I wanted a new experience, such as working in the field and helping others in the process, rather than being in the office all day. Before GCF, I interned at the office of Assemblyman Keith L.T. Wright for three months, and while the experience working in a office was fantastic, I did not get that feeling that I was helping anyone at all. I found GCF through the process of job searching and at first, I was hesitant about the six month long program, until I discovered the benefits that they provided, such as the stipend and the technical training. The most important thing I learned during my time with GCF was to never give up, especially if you are “hungry for the money”. There will always be more opportunities out there. My plan after GCF is to look for a well paying job, then go back to college to major in Information Technology. I would like to thank the GCF staff their hard work to make this program possible, the Team Leaders for being our mentors and role models, and most of all my fellow Corps Members/friends for always keeping a smile on my face while at work and teaching me something new every day. You guys rock and I hope we keep in touch.
