Green City Force Alumna Shontanyce Bailey on stage at WE Day NYC!
WE is a movement that brings people together and gives them the tools to change the world. Get involved with your family, school, company or as an individual. Together, we can shift the world from “me” to “we.”
Wednesday May 6 was WE Day NYC 2017, and it was big. Stars, philanthropists and activists like Talib Kweli, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Paula Abdul, Jordan Fisher, Mia Farrow, Martin Luther King III and others took the stage to promote WE’s message, that when we come together, we can do anything.
Green City Force partner Unilever Growing Roots invited GCF Alumna Shontanyce Bailey to take the stage! Shontanyce described how serving in GCF’s Urban Farm Corps empowered her to strive for new heights, “Before I joined Green City Force I didn’t know what I was capable of doing, GCF opened my mind to the importance of living sustainably.”
Before joining Green City Force, Shontanyce was worked behind the scenes at Radio City Music Hall. We’re incredibly proud to see her back at Radio City, but this time, on stage.
Shontanyce announced to the WE Day crowd “I found my purpose.” “My work with Green City Force also led me to a career in urban agriculture, I am now a Farm Crew Leader with Harlem Grown.”
